Creating the Opera Flavor
The story behind the birth of our Opera Cake is close to my heart.
My husband and I traveled to France, choosing to skip Paris altogether because we weren’t fond of the city. Instead, we preferred the slow, scenic views and vibes of the countryside.
My husband, who always plans our yearly trips, decided to treat me to a different dessert place every day. It was his love language, finding spots that were highly rated or had something special to offer.
One day, he brought me to a patisserie that, although I can’t recall its name, left a lasting impression on me.
This patisserie featured an Opera Cake, and my husband said, “This is the place I’m bringing you to try the Opera Cake.” I had never tried an Opera Cake before, and it was truly a revelation.
It was my first time tasting one, and it was really, really good. That’s when I thought, “Maybe I should come back and make an Opera Cake myself.”
And that’s how it all began. Inspired by that beautiful experience, I decided to bring the magic of the Opera Cake back home and recreate it for others to enjoy.
Our version of the Opera Cake is a luxurious and dramatic dessert experience. It features a 100% almond nut cake sponge soaked with a blend of gold coffee, layered between rich chocolate cream and coffee vanilla cream. This decadent treat is perfect for those in search of a dramatic dessert-tasting experience.
