Creating the Let's Go Banana Flavor
It was initially going to be called Banana Vanilla, but I wanted something fun so it ended up being Let's Go Banana! I think it’s perfect for people who like bananas—they’ll go nuts over it! I was playing around with the words "going nuts" and it became the official name for the banana cake.
All our cakes have straightforward names like Mango Passionfruit or Rocher Chocolate, which describe exactly what they are. I wanted something a bit more fun with our banana vanilla, like a mini surprise.
Banana has also been one of our first few cakes, and it’s very well-loved, especially by parents with babies. Banana is such a generic fruit; nearly every baby enjoys bananas.
Having a banana-flavored cake in our baby-friendly category is a must, especially when so many parents are regular patrons. That’s why we created Let’s Go Banana.
It's unique in the sense whereby instead of using a banana sponge, we use a fruit-pureed sponge infused with apple and lemon. Having a little lemon in the sponge enhances the fresh flavor of the banana.
When customers try our banana cake, they find it very refreshing, thanks to the lemon component in the sponge.
With its delicious combination of moist banana and light cream layer on a vanilla apple cake, it's perfect for anyone with allergies or dietary restrictions.
